Over the last week the Bradford Hindu Council have ran a campaign to collect easter eggs within the Hindu community to help disadvantaged children in the local area. This has been a huge success with numerous donations been collected by Bhagy Mistry on behalf of the BHC.
Bhagy Mistry said “BHC are extremely proud to support the JCI Easter egg appeal. In less than a week we engaged with the Hindu community and requested donations. We were overwhelmed with the response and successfully donated 567 eggs that will be distributed to those in need. Such a fabulous cause and it was great to work with another voluntary organisation. A big thank you to everyone who contributed and supported this appeal.
Appeal Co-ordinator Michelle Pemberton said “The JCI Easter Egg Appeal is run by volunteers that all work full time and run the appeal in their spare time to develop their skills within the community. Defying Covid and its restrictions the appeal has really caught the imagination and hearts of Bradford this year to create such an amazing amount of eggs for disadvantaged children. I am overwhelmed by the generosity and hard work each and every donor including the Bradford Hindu Council (BHC) who have put into the appeal to make its eighth year an egg-cellent record breaking one. We cannot express our gratitude enough to everyone who got involved, they have all made this year of the appeal a great success in providing 3539 children with an egg at Easter. We could not do it without their support and kindness.”
