The Bradford Hindu Council (BHC) extends its warmest congratulations to all the newly elected and re-elected Councillors across the Bradford Metropolitan District. Serving as a public representative requires dedication, integrity, and a strong commitment to the continued progress of our city. We wish all the members success as they prepare to take up their official duties.
Recognition of Service
We also wish to acknowledge the outgoing Councillors who have concluded their terms. The BHC has valued the professional and constructive engagement shared with many of these members over the years. We thank them for their dedicated service to the district and wish them well in their future professional and personal endeavours.
A Strategic Partner in Community Relations
The Bradford Hindu Council serves as the representative body for over 20 Hindu organisations and temples across the region. Our role is to act as a bridge between the Hindu community and local government, ensuring that our residents continue to contribute positively to the social, cultural, and economic prosperity of Bradford.
We take pride in our longstanding collaboration with local authorities and community partners to help foster a well-integrated, inclusive, and forward-looking district.
A Track Record of Civic Engagement
The BHC remains deeply involved in the civic life of Bradford, leading initiatives that promote mutual respect, shared heritage, and community cohesion. Our interfaith work continues to be a core priority, and we work closely with the Bradford District Faith Forum and fellow faith leaders to strengthen dialogue and cross-community understanding throughout the district.

Our commitment to the wider Bradford community is further demonstrated through our annual participation in the Remembrance Sunday parade, where we join the city in honouring those who served. In addition, the BHC Diwali Awards continue to celebrate excellence in community service by recognising individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the district.

As the Chair recently reflected:
“Bradford’s strength has always come from communities working together with mutual respect, shared responsibility, and a common purpose.”
Collaborating for the Future
We believe that strong engagement between community organisations and elected representatives is essential for effective local governance. As the new Council begins its term, we look forward to establishing positive and constructive relationships with ward representatives across the district.

To engage in this dialogue, we warmly invite all newly elected Councillors to visit our member temples or meet with our leadership team. We would welcome the opportunity to provide a briefing on our upcoming community and interfaith projects and discuss how we can work together to serve your constituents.

In the years ahead, we hope to work collaboratively on issues that matter to all residents, including youth engagement, community wellbeing, interfaith understanding, and opportunities that support a stronger and more inclusive Bradford.

The Bradford Hindu Council remains committed to working alongside all communities and elected representatives to help build a united, prosperous, and compassionate district for future generations.
